I Am A Rock

I Am A Rock
(apologies to Paul Simon; may be sung with a snarl)

An August day
On the first platform of summer
I am alone
Glaring from my rostrum
On the peons of the press
They vainly hope my ego to repress.
I am a rock
I am the Donnnnnald.

I’ve built walls
Hotels steep, casinos mighty
That none may confiscate.
I have no need of allies
Alliances cause pain.
The Party-line is something I disdain
I am a rock
I am the Donnnnald.

Don’t talk of love
My cash buys wives and big shots.
Politicians do my bidding
As I smugly write their checks,
My foot is firmly planted on their necks.
I am a rock
I am the Donnnnnald.

I have my chutzpah
And my certainty to protect me
I am shielded from all doubt and regret.
Hiding in plain sight
Spoiling for a fight
I shock weaklings and appeasers every day
I am a rock
I am the Donnnnnald.

And a rock feels no pain
And the Donald never pays.
